Description
King College’s Department of Performing and Visual Arts will present the Broadway classic, Pippin with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and book by Roger O. Hirson. The production opens Wednesday, April 13th at 7:30 pm in the Paramount Center for the Arts and runs Thursday, April 14th at 7:30 pm, Friday, April 15th at 8:00 pm, and Saturday, April 16th at 2:30 pm. The popular musical captivates audiences with its tongue in cheek humor, pop rock score, and memorable characters. In this magical fable, a band of wandering players tells the story of Pippin, the son of Charlemagne. Pippin longs to discover the secret of true happiness and fulfillment. He seeks for it on the battlefield, in the temptations of the flesh, in political plots for power, but in the end will he find it in the simple pleasures of home and family? Stephen Schwartz’s (Godspell, Wicked) energetic score is filled with one show stopping number after the next. King College’s production is directed by Elizabeth Lee Dollar, designed by Christopher R. Slaughter, and musical direction is by Amy L. Oblinger. Adults $10; Seniors $7.50; Students $5. Box Office 423.274.8920 or on-line www.etix.comContact
