Description

Think Spring! One of the benefits of living in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia is the beauty of our trees as they bud and bloom in the spring time. The City of Bristol Tennessee’s Tree Board, along with the department of Parks and Recreation, are co-hosting Tree Keepers 2011. The annual program is set for Saturday, March 12, 2011 from 8:30 A.M. – 3:00 P.M.

Come out to the Steele Creek Park Lodge located at 100 Lakeshore Drive within beautiful Steele Creek Park and hear from area representatives as well as experts from the State of Tennessee Department of Forestry. They will discuss a wide range of subjects from “Tree Basics and Proper Tree Planting,” “First Year Maintenance,” “Importance of Trees Around our Homes and Communities,” and “Threats to Tennessee’s Native Trees.”

A light breakfast and lunch will be provided, but spaces are limited. Pre-registration is required by March 10, 2011. The cost of the program is $10.00. You may register by calling the Parks and Recreation Department at 423-764-4023.
